Just wanted to send you a quick note to say thank you for a wonderful stay at the weekend. Myself and Rob ( we were in the Byron Suite) had a fabulous time. Having visited many different hotels across the world, I would definitely say that this was one of the best places I have stayed and this was mainly down to the great service that we received.

In addition the room was beautiful (great bathroom) and the rest of the hotel has a great atmosphere with the various different bars especially the cocktail bar. The breakfast was also excellent and a great start to our day!!!

Beautifully re-opened bar and hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. We found the food exceptional, good choice of starters, mains, deserts and snacks. 2 downstairs bars and a very nice upstairs lounge/cocktail bar. I'd recommend anyone visiting Chester to try The Commercial!

Great food, atmosphere and lovely rooms. All right in the heart of the city centre in a charming old building, which has been given a modern twist.

We stopped randomly in Chester on the way back from Wales and found this hotel on the Internet. It's quite hard to find but when we phoned and asked for directions the manager offered to come to meet us and personally showed us the way in. Rooms are immaculate and really romantic. Atmosphere and service is unquestionable. Would definately recommend this hotel :)

We have visited The Commercial Hotel for lunch on several occasions since it re-opened, and have been very pleased each time, great service from attentive friendly staff & management, nothing is too much trouble. Well worth a visit, lovely atmosphere, well done to all concerned!!

Sat outside now! Great service, the manager helped us locate the hotel and took us to our room personally. Met the owner who introduced himself, relaxed, and hospitable. All British hotels should be like this!

I have been a tripadvisor member for several years but this is the first time ever I have posted a review. Stayed at the Commercial for one night only as a last minute booking for my husband and myself - we had already booked three nights elsewhere in Chester but decided to travel down a day earlier than planned to avoid the bank holiday traffic. Are we glad we did!
Everything about our stay was fabulous. The room was furnished and finished to the highest standard, absoutely immaculate, and the service second to none. ( A special thank you to James and Kyle for the brilliant service they provided )
The only downside was that we had to leave to spend the rest of our break elsewhere...and even though it was central spa hotel we much preferred our stay at the Commercial. We have stayed at Chester many times and I can honestly say we had no complaints whatsoever and will certainly be returning.. hopefully very soon!

Good quality value for money

Central Chester hotel

The Commercial is trully excellent. The staff are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and helpful. The location is fantastic and the bars are both well stocked, clean and intimate.

Commercial Hotel makes a lot of sense
For location & quality it's a great choice if you want to be central and in the thick of it. The price is more sensible than many in the area for the type of accomodation too.

Great Location
The Commercial is set in a courtyard behind a church but is only a few steps away from the heart of Chester's main shopping streets. The room we had was nice and looked as though it had just been refurbished. The room and public areas were very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room had aircon, tea/coffee facilities and a large LCD TV.
I sampled a couple of local beers in the bar and they were excellent. The next morning we had the full English breakfast, it was huge and really delicious.
We enjoyed our stay at the Commercial and would definately stay there again.

Great location, superb accomodation...but quite noisy at night.
This hotel is in a fantastic central location, the building itself being really lovely and quite quirky. The hostess is very warm and friendly and really understands how to look after customers - nothing was too much trouble.
